Katara - The Cultural Village has celebrated Qatar National Day with a variety of public festivities, giving people the opportunity to express their feelings about Qatar.

People from different nationalities jotted down their feelings of love and gratitude for their host country in various languages in the Loyalty Book. At the amphitheatre, the Emiri Guard entertained the audience with a musical show.

The Emiri Guard also took out a parade and toured the Katara beach with 14 horses, clad in the traditional national dress. 

The parachute shows of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) were also applauded by the Katara visitors. Further, more than 6,000 gifts were given to visitors at different locations inside the Cultural Village.

Other activities included contests and quizzes on Qatar’s history, a vintage car show, henna-painting and folk games.

Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said, “Through such activities, we are keen to give all - nationals and expatriates - a space to express their feelings towards Qatar in an entertaining way.”
