Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and an accompanying delegation, including First Lady Anna Komorowska, Poland’s ambassador to Qatar Robert Rostek and other senior officials and dignitaries, visited The Pearl-Qatar on Tuesday.
United Development Company’s acting CEO Badr al-Meer and other company executives welcomed the president at the sales and marketing centre, The Oyster.
“The island has increasingly been attracting interest from around the world and the president’s visit is yet another example of the reputation UDC and its flagship island, The Pearl-Qatar, have gained in the past few years. We are proud that our project has grown to become a landmark of international reputation,” al-Meer said.
Walking their guests through the massive Pearl-Qatar model centred inside the Oyster lobby, UDC officials presented the key precincts and features of the island and explained what has been completed to date as well as the progress currently being made at different levels of the development.
After the Oyster presentation, President Komorowski and other members of the delegation joined UDC officials on an exclusive yacht tour of the island. The sea-view tour gave visitors a first-hand look into the magnitude of the island’s development and the enormity of the investment opportunities available there.
President Komorowski described The Pearl-Qatar as “absolutely spectacular”. “We have heard quite a bit about The Pearl, and so it was important for us to get a live perspective of the island and to learn about some of its wonderful areas and districts.”
