Long-distance specialist Kyle Korver of the Atlanta Hawks shot himself into the history books. Korver set the NBA record for consecutive games with a three-pointer at 90 Friday night and the Hawks crushed the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 108-89.

Korver hit the milestone triple with five minutes 29 seconds left in the first quarter, breaking a tie with Dana Barros (1994-96).

“It feels good,” said Korver, who finished with 10 points, including a pair from behind the arc. “The NBA is the best of the best. Anytime you have the opportunity to be part of a record it’s a special thing and I don’t take it for granted.”

Al Horford scored 22 points, while Paul Millshap added 16 with 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who built a 20-point halftime cushion and coasted to their second straight win.

“It was a great night for Kyle Korver,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “For him to do what he did over the course of 90 consecutive games is a heck of an effort.”

Dion Waiters topped Cleveland with a season-high 30 points while Andrew Bynum added 20 and 13 rebounds. Kyrie Irving - averaging nearly 21 points per game - was held scoreless on 0-of-9 shooting.

Elsewhere, Wesley Matthews scored 14 of his 24 points in the game-breaking 40-13 third-quarter, and the surging Trail Blazers blew out the visiting Jazz 130-98 for their 15th win in the last 16 games.

Damien Lillard added 21 points while LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 20 and 15 rebounds as Portland (17-3) set a franchise record with 17 triples in the rout.

Jodie Meeks scored 19 points, including two huge triples to spark a decisive 13-0 run in the three minutes, Spaniard Pau Gasol also had 19, and the visiting Lakers stormed past the Kings as they await Kobe Bryant’s return. Lakers beat the Kings 106-100.

“The Black Mamba” announced in a dramatic video on his Facebook page he will make his season-debut Sunday at home against Toronto, nearly eight months after the superstar underwent surgery on his torn left Achilles tendon.

DeMarcus Cousins and rookie Ben McLemore netted 20 points apiece in Sacramento’s sixth straight loss.

Kevin Durant dropped in 29 points, Russell Westbrook added 25, and the visiting Thunder rolled the Pelicans for its ninth win in the last 10 games. Thunder won the contest with a 109-95 verdict.

Ryan Anderson totalled 18 points for the Pelicans, who have lost nine straight meetings in the series.

James Harden poured in 34 points, Dwight Howard had 22 with 18 rebounds, and the host Rockets routed the Warriors 106-83 to stop a two-game slide.

Stephen Curry scored 22 points for the Warriors, who shot a season-low 35.5% from the field in the beat-down.

Jeff Taylor filling in for injured Michael Kidd-Gilchrist because of a broken left hand, matched a career-high with 20 points and added 10 assists, as the Bobcats sent the Sixers to their eighth straight road loss despite Tony Wroten game-high 21 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Bobcats defeated Sixers 105-88.

Khris Middleton scored a career-high 29 points and Brandon Knight added 20, including a key jumper and free throw in the final 21 seconds of overtime, and the visiting Bucks beat the Wizards 109-105 for just their fourth win of the season.

 John Wall topped Washington with 30 points while Trevor Ariza had 22 and 12 rebounds.
