Qatar Petroleum Research and Technology Centre (QPRTC) participated in the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2013 (ARC ’13), which was held recently at Qatar National Convention Centre.  
QPRTC’s research projects involve local and international universities, international oil companies, science institutes and technology providers. The centre’s research themes are mainly focused on oil and gas subsurface and surface in exploration and production activities.  
The projects showcased at ARC ’13 included research into new technologies for enhanced well injectivity and productivity, characterising oil reservoirs with fingerprinting technique, improving water management for the environment and investigating storage of carbon dioxide.  
QPRTC also presented its commitment to social responsibility with its project related to vehicle tyre safety, the purpose of which is to reduce the number of fatal road accidents due to the failure of tyres.
“QPRTC is fortunate to have highly skilled individuals and state-of-the-art laboratories with cutting-edge equipment and innovative software. We are confident in making a difference in QP with regard to future production, and we also play an active role in corporate social responsibility by investing in projects such as improved water quality and tyre safety,” said Dr Nasser al-Mohannadi, manager of QPRTC.
