The Doha Players’ 40th pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, will be staged at Qatar National Theatre from today until November 30.
This year sees the return of a traditional pantomime and Jack and the Beanstalk was also the first unofficial pantomime put on by The Doha Players back in 1973.
Forty years on, the magic of the simple tale of goodies versus baddies remains largely unchanged. However, it
has been written with the
Qatar audience in mind, keeping the gag-a-minute style both regional and topical.
Samantha McGill directs the cast in this classic fairy tale. She is no stranger to pantomime or Jack and the Beanstalk, having previously played the title role herself. She was also the resident director for a leading UK pantomime producer.
The show timings are 7pm today, 2.30pm and 7pm tomorrow and 2.30pm on November 30.
Tickets are on sale at The ONE in Landmark and Villaggio malls. For more information, visit thedohaplayers.com/panto or contact [email protected]
