Australian rider Anthony West is back to the Qatari track as he joins the second round of Qatar Superbike (QSBK) that will take place this weekend at Losail International Circuit. |
The QMMF Racing Team Moto2 rider, will be a wild card for this round and the battle for the title will be tough and exciting between him and the defendant champion, Alex Cudlin.
Both Aussie riders, West and Cudlin will ride the same bike, a Kawasaki ZX10 as Nina Prinz will continue riding with her ‘old’ Suzuki bike. West expects to have enough time tomorrow during the practices to set up his bike and he hopes to repeat the excellent result he got last season when he also joined the Qatar Superbike and won both races.
‘I am looking forward to the weekend and hopefully I can win both races but this weekend Anthony West is riding also so it will be a difficult race. Maybe the the weather will cause also some change in the results but anyway, we’ll see what the weather does and for sure I will try my best and go for the 2 wins’ Alex Cudlin stated today at the track.
“I am happy to be here again and wish that the weather conditions will be ok for the weekend. I hope I can make a lot of points for the championship with my Suzuki bike and I want to give my best to be with the top riders and this time also riding with West. It is always a pleasure for me to ride here and thanks to QMMF for the support and it is great to have more championships this weekend and I really look forward to watch them,” Nina Prinz said yesterday.
QMMF President Nasser Khalifa al-Attiya stated that is a pleasure to host the last round of PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship at Losail International Circuit also this weekend.
“For all the Motorsport fans it will be a great weekend to have both championships running together. It will be the fourth consecutive year that Losail international Circuit closures the last round of PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship and really hope to continue with this championship more years,” QMMF President said.
Today, Qatar Motor and Motorcycle and Losail International Circuit will do a Humanity Parade for the campaign of the Yolanda Typhoon in the Philippines. All riders are invited to participate parade.
