HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani meeting Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of Bahrain Defence Force and the First Deputy Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifah and Jordan’s King Abdullah on the sidelines of the Arab-Africa summit in Kuwait yesterday.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday participated with the leaders of Arab and African countries in the opening session of the 3rd Arab-Africa Summit here yesterday.
Held under the slogan “Partners in Development and Investment” at the Liberation Hall in the Bayan Palace in Kuwait, the session was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Personal Representative of HH the Emir.
The session was also attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.
The session was also attended by a number of heads of delegations and international, African and Arab civil society organisations as well as senior officials.
The Emir also held meetings with the leaders, the heads of state and chief delegates participating in the 3rd Arab-Africa Summit.
The Emir met King Abdullah of Jordan, President Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir of Sudan, President Dr Mohamed al-Mancef al-Marzouqi of Tunisia and President Abedrabo Mansour Hadi of Yemen.
He also met Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifah, the Deputy Supreme Commander of Bahrain’s Defence Force and the First Deputy Prime Minister, and Assad bin Tariq bin Taymour al-Saeed, the representative of Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman.
Talks during these meetings dealt with bilateral relations and topics tabled on the agenda of the third Arab-Africa Summit.
The meetings were attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the personal representative of HH the Emir.
Their members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir also attended the meetings.
Later in the afternoon, the Emir left Kuwait concluding his two-day visit.
He sent a cable to Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation during the summit.
