More than 500 students from 17 schools across Qatar and the Middle East came together as Doha College’s sixth annual Model United Nations (DCMUN) conference that was held on Thursday and Friday.
The theme was “Isolation and Intervention.”
From the opening ceremony, students and guests were entertained by music, drama and speeches exploring the theme.
In a weekend of heavy debate, the students were able to challenge themselves and try to find resolutions for many issues.
Doha College Model United Nations team’s Kushagra Kohli, Nismah Siddique, Jonathan Coutinho and Oliver Tull brought the conference to a successful close where celebration and personal development of the delegates were recognised.
Butler, Doha College Model United Nations team’s director, expressed his gratitude to all the students.
“Our talented students are so wonderful to work with. They are all a credit to Doha College, to themselves and to their parents. We look forward to next year and DCMUN VII.”
The DCMUN conference is a simulation of the United Nations, and gives attendees the opportunity to develop their communication skills, responsibility and knowledge of current affairs.
Doha College MUN conference is the only school in Qatar to be THIMUN affiliated, meaning that the conference has official connections to The Hague International Model United Nations, and ultimately, the United Nations.
