The International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) granted yesterday Staff Brigadier General Abdulla Mohamed al-Suwaidi, director general of the General Directorate of the Civil Defence (GDCD) an international decoration with the rank of an officer. The decoration is given to senior officers, heads of distinguished civil protection departments around the world. Dr Vladimir Kuvshinov, secretary-general of ICDO presented the decoration. He also gave the shield of the organisation to Brigadier Aman Saad al-Sulaiti, assistant director general of GDCD. Staff Brigadier General al-Suwaidi gave mementos to Dr Kuvshinov and the accompanying delegation.
