Dignitaries during the opening of Woqod service station at west Mesaieed yesterday.

Qatar Fuel (Woqod) opened a new service station at west Mesaieed yesterday.
The station was officially inaugurated by Woqod vice chairman and managing director Mohamed Khalifa Turki al-Sobai.
“We are glad to inaugurate Mesaieed-West service station. It is the second service station that Woqod inaugurates within a week, after opening the Pearl-Qatar service station on November 10.
“In designing this service station, we took into account the varied needs of the local community as well as the winter camps”. It is worth noting that Mesaieed area is a popular destination for camping and beach trips.
The station will provide gasoline and diesel for motorists and special lanes for fuel trucks using high speed dispensers. It will also have a Sidra convenience store that provides a range of hot and cold beverages in addition to fast food and a vast collection of daily needs for the station’s visitors.
The site includes a separate manual car wash, and basic vehicle maintenance. Additionally, a number of fast food restaurants and a pharmacy will soon open in the Kenar building attached to the station.
The concept is totally in keeping with Woqod’s desire to provide a community centre to customers in the area.
The Mesaieed-West service station is the 24th service station in Woqod’s new image. Further sites will open this year in Abu Samra and North Mesaieed.
Currently, Woqod has two service stations under construction and another nine under planning consent.
