A large number of people gathered at 1 La Croisette in Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar, yesterday to witness the opening competitions of this year’s Flyboard World Cup. The event will run until tomorrow.
This marks the second championship here after last year’s successful international Flyboard contest on the Doha Corniche.
The championship, organised by the Qatar Union for Water Sports under the leadership of Sheikh Hassan bin Jabr al-Thani and sponsored by Hilton Doha, is taking place along the shores of Porto Arabia.
Flyboard enthusiasts from Qatar and around the world are participating in the contest, all competing for the title of Flyboard Champion.
The opening ceremonies were attended by senior members of the Qatar Union for Water Sports and UDC as well as water sports lovers from across Qatar.
Besides the Flyboard World Cup, The Pearl-Qatar regularly holds other water sports events - bringing together sports fans from all parts of the community.
