The renowned French retail chain Monoprix will offer the ‘best price for the best quality’ to customers at its first outlet in Doha, Stephane Maquaire, president du Directoire Monoprix said yesterday.
Monoprix, which is represented by the Ali Bin Ali Group in Qatar, launched their first store in the country in the heart of West Bay at Palm Tower yesterday, which is opposite the famous Tornado towers building.
In an interview with Gulf Times, Maquaire said the customers will find a good balance between high quality, service and price at the store. “I believe the customers will enjoy this new store by exploring our new and good quality products. They’ll discover a different feeling and a different way of shopping. Our new products will surprise the customers because we have not only French products but also from the Middle East and Europe,” he said.
The plans for the new store in Doha had been in the making for the last four years. About the future, Maquaire said “What we really want to do is to set Monoprix as a significant banner in Qatar on the whole and not only in Doha. Maybe we’ll have several stores. Maybe we’ll have different banners with Monoprix’s Mono which is our convenience store format. We’ll see how far we go [here],” he said.
French Ambassador Jean-Christophe Peaucelle, Nabeel Ali Bin Ali, vice-chairman & executive vice-president Ali Bin Ali Group and Christian Kestemont , general manager Monoprix Qatar were among the senior officials who attended the event.
Kestemont said: “We have a wide range of organic, gluten free products in addition to one of the widest selections of fresh produce. Monoprix Qatar will feature a café corner, which will offer a delectable variety of bakery, cake, desserts and other treats and an option for the customer to dine in.”
Monoprix has more than 480 stores in France. The company already extended its global reach with 75 stores worldwide, in locations such as Tunisia and Lebanon among others.
