Ooredoo announced yesterday a major upgrade for its Business Messaging Service as part of the company’s wider revamp of its business services portfolio.

The upgrade will enable  businesses as well as  the general public  to communicate more accurately and directly with their customers and employees since the enhanced service is designed to reduce the burden of SMS spam being sent to the wrong people.

The Ooredoo Business Messaging Service is a mobile marketing tool that offers businesses and corporations a cost-effective and efficient way to send bulk messages from the application to mobile devices and smartphones.

Companies using the service can contact large groups of people quickly and efficiently, and personalise group messages with Mail Merge functionality.

Ooredoo has increased the flexibility of the service by adding desktop and web-based management tools. This enables companies to send links within an SMS to recipient’s smartphones, opening up a world of marketing and messaging possibilities.

Ooredoo has also improved the pricing table, to make it easier for business to choose the option that suits them and reduced the cost of each package as well as increasing the number of messages available within each option. Rates are now as low as 0.8 Dirhams per SMS, enabling companies to maximise the impact and spread of their messaging.

Ooredoo has a messaging services code of conduct for companies that use SMS to communicate with customers to ensure that they  are using this service responsibly and has added features during the service upgrade to ensure that companies are able to fully target their messaging.

The Ooredoo Business Messaging changes are part of the company’s wider upgrade of its business services portfolio, with a particular focus on the needs of small and medium-sized businesses.
