HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman held a session of official talks at Bait Al-Baraka Palace in the Omani capital, Muscat, yesterday.  
The talks dealt with co-operation between the two countries and ways of expanding their scopes in various fields, and the latest regional developments and issues of common interest.
Earlier on arrival in Muscat on a two-day visit, the Emir and the accompanying delegation was received by Sultan Qaboos,   a number of ministers, Qatar’s ambassador to Oman Abdullah Mohamed al-Khater, Oman’s ambassador to Qatar Mohamed bin Nasser bin Hamad al-Wahaibi and the Qatari embassy staff in the Sultanate.
In a statement he gave on arrival the Emir expressed pleasure at visiting Oman and meet  Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed and wished the Omani people further progress.
The Emir said that his visit to Oman reflects the depth of fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries and peoples.  
The Emir expressed belief that his meeting with Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed will serve both countries.  
Meanwhile, Oman’s Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed bin Nasser bin Hamad al-Wahaibi said that the visit of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Oman came at an important juncture, due to the delicate conditions facing the region.  
Al Wahaibi told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the visit of the Emir, which aimed to enhance bilateral relations, was a historic one. The ambassador added that the current conditions demanded a stronger co-operation between GCC countries, particularly ahead of the GCC summit, which makes the visit of HH the Emir all the more important.  
He also expressed the appreciation and respect the Sultanate of Oman has for HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
He added that the strong relationship between Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed and HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, will facilitate strengthening bilateral relations.
He stressed as well that the wisdom of the leaders of Qatar and Oman will guarantee that such meetings will yield positive results that enhance the integration between GCC countries.
Earlier yesterday, the Emir wrapped up two-day state visit to Bahrain before heading to Oman.
King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifah of Bahrain led well-wishers to see off the Emir and the accompanying delegation at Bahrain International Airport.
The Emir sent a cable to King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifah in which he extended his sincere thanks and appreciation for the hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation during the visit.
