SV Hamburg new signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored a hat-trick in six minutes in a 5-0 gala at Nuremberg in the German football Bundesliga yesterday. |
The 21-year-old, signed from Hertha Berlin on the last day of the transfer window, bagged goals in the 60th, 63rd and 66th minutes following a first-half opener from Rafael van der Vaart. Tolgay Arslan completed the rout in the 74th.
It was a first away victory of the season for Hamburg and a first under new coach Bert van Marwijk in the Dutchman’s second game in charge following the dismissal of Thorsten Fink.
Hamburg move out of the bottom three to eight points, leaving Nuremberg third last on five, still without a win after eight games.
Dutch midfielder van der Vaart gave Hamburg the lead in the 17th minute. Van der Vaart then set up Lasogga, who finished just inside the area on the hour, and provided a corner from the right three minutes later which was met at close range by the striker.
Nuremberg’s Sweden defender Per Nilsson was at fault for the fourth with a pass straight to Lasogga who took aim from 30 metres, his shot going in off the post, before Arslan finished with a chip after a poor clearance by keeper Raphael Schaefer.
