The first Qatar International Exhibition for Pools & Spa (QPS 2012) will open on September 26 at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
Organisers Heights Exhibitions and Conferences said preparations for hosting the three-day global event have been completed.
In addition to many VIPs, the opening ceremony at 11am will be attended by ambassadors and heads of missions of the countries participating in the exhibition .
QPS 2012 will be inaugurated by Qatar Chamber (QC) board member Nasser al-Meer.
The event will be open for the public from 3pm – 10 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
“The first edition of QPS 2012 will include a collection of events aiming to meet the increasing demand of the industry of swimming pools and spas and people who want to build swimming pools, and provide information about latest technologies in the fields of spa, beauty, body and skin care,” said Waleed Wahba, Heights CEO yesterday at a press briefing.
The exhibition will include many events such as Dancing Fountain Show to be organised daily for the first time in Qatar, presented by Belhasa Projects.
There will be also valuable programmes for professionals in the field of swimming pools, water features, beauty and spa, in addition to workshops for the public presenting the latest information and tips about water treatment, machinery, beauty, hair, body and skin care.
The International Beauty Academy (Tajmeel) will hold workshops with professional instructors presenting sessions about spa, aroma therapy, and safety and security instructions in spas and swimming pools.
QPS 2012 will also feature sauna, jacuzzi, sports equipment, beauty products and tools, with a big collection of natural products to be presented by Khan al-Saboun as gifts for everybody visiting QPS 2012.
Wahba said that after this first ever edition of the conference, it will be held annually in Doha until 2015, and after that biannually.
Miss Earth Natlie Farraj will be QPS’s guest of honour, presenting tips for everybody interested in health and beauty.
QPS 2012 will have the participation of 16 Arabian, European and Asian countries. Wahba thanked Qatar Tourism Authority for its support in introducing the growing exhibition industry in the country.
“Belhasa Projects, one of the leading participants, is the largest of its kind in the region and we are delighted to be one of the key sponsors at QPS 2012. The company has won contracts worth more than QR 17mn within the swimming pool sector and over QR120mn for water treatment projects with Ashghal alone,” said Majed Belhasa, a senior company official.
Wahba stressed the huge increase in construction and building fields specially hotels, green parks in addition to a general trend in opening spas and wellness centres, which enhance opportunities among local, regional and international companies.
