Commercial Bank, in partnership with College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q), has launched a new academic degree programme in International Finance, aimed at high-school graduates in Qatar.
The four-year Commercial Bank bachelor’s degree alternates university-based learning with placements across the Commercial Bank business, enabling high-school leavers to combine academic study with relevant and high-quality work experience in a leading financial institution with strong
international links.
“At CNA-Q, we fully appreciate the importance of maintaining smart, well-informed, highly competent and ethical finance experts in Qatar’s future,” said Michael Jaywant, executive director, Centre for Banking, CNA-Q. “This partnership with Commercial Bank is an ideal way to bring the right expertise home, and follows naturally from our existing partnership for a BA in Management and
Banking.”
The new International Finance degree is a platform for motivated Qatari high-school graduates to structure and accelerate their careers, becoming familiar with work and leadership opportunities within CBQ while receiving dedicated support in the form of mentoring, technical training, team-building and communication skills enhancement as well as guidance towards the BA awarded by the partnering university at the end of the programme.
“With this new bachelor’s degree in International Finance, we are maintaining our focus on Qatari development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Abdulla Saleh al-Raisi, CEO of Commercial Bank. “By providing this unique offering with its combination of education and experience, we are also cementing Commercial Bank’s reputation for offering pioneering, high-quality programmes.”
