(Left) Qatar’s Mabrouk Saleh won the 20Km walk gold medal on the concluding day of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Indonesia. Saleh finished the race in 1:31:26 hours, three minutes and more than six minutes ahead of the second-placed and third-placed athletes. However, Saleh’s gold medal wasn’t Qatar’s sole achievement of the night. In archery, the Qatari team (above right) clinched third place after defeating Saudi Arabia and Malaysia 218-214 and 222-220, respectively. They lost only to Iran 222-229. Qatar bagged four medals at the event, including one gold one silver and two bronze.
