Ooredoo’s new flagship shop and headquarters (HQ2) were opened yesterday at the Airport Road by group chairman HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani, in the presence of a delegation of senior officials and representatives of major organisations.
The theme of the event was “Racing to the future,” as Ooredoo showcased the technologies, processes and innovations that will help deliver the best possible customer experience.
Ooredoo’s new headquarters will function as the “nerve centre” for all customer-facing operations in Qatar, bringing together customer services, sales, marketing and support staff together under one roof in a futuristic environment designed to streamline processes.
It is co-located with Ooredoo’s brand new flagship store, a high-tech hotspot designed to showcase the latest and best technologies for connecting the people of Qatar.
Joined by special guest Nasser al-Attiyah, Olympic medallist and rally driver, the delegation of special guests were led on the first organised tour of both facilities.
At the opening ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah said, “We have always said we wanted to offer the people of Qatar the very best, which is why we have designed and developed this new headquarters building to enable our teams to work in harmony together. Everyone in this building is fully-focused on improving every aspect of the customer experience in Qatar, and living our brand values of caring, connecting and challenging ourselves to deliver world-class services.”
Ooredoo’s new shop features paperless pricing, an SMS queuing system, an interactive big screen television and several play-pods where customers can witness Ooredoo’s fibre broadband speeds and try out the latest tablets and smartphones.
According to Ooredoo “the whole experience for customers entering the store is seamless and paper-free.”
They are provided with a customer number via SMS, and can move around the store to special sections covering every aspect of Ooredoo services. Interactive screens enable customers to check individual specifications of different products, as well as up-to-the-minute details of new offers and promotions.
A special home interactive section enables customers to experience the full range of benefits provided by Next Generation Mozaic TV, as well as seeing Ooredoo’s incredible portfolio of entertainment services.
For businesses, there are “VIP areas”, where experts can talk through new technologies that can help streamline costs and drive effectiveness for small and medium businesses, and even enterprises.
The new Ooredoo flagship is unique in Qatar in having special demonstration areas for both 4G and fibre technologies, enabling customers to experience the incredible speeds and versatility of Ooredoo’s top-of-the-range fixed and wireless Internet solutions. Customers can also see the flawless transition that is now possible between 4G mobile Internet and hotspots fuelled by Ooredoo fibre.
Ooredoo’s store even has Interactive Self-Service stations (ISIS), the latest computerised solution, which enables customers to check balances, pay bills and apply for new services at the touch of a screen.
During the event, the VIP visitors were given a Grand Prix Tour around the new Ooredoo Headquarters including the customer service centre, marketing offices and Ooredoo ‘Pit Stop’ gym.
Ooredoo Qatar CEO Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani said, “This opening is a big day for Ooredoo, and our new prime location near the airport means we are here for every customer whenever they arrive home in Qatar. Ooredoo is racing forward, bringing a new type of shopping experience for our customers, and offering technologies and products that are entirely innovative and not seen before in this market.”
Ooredoo’s iconic tower headquarters in West Bay, HQ1, will continue to be used by the company along with its new HQ2.
