The British Council Teaching Centre Qatar will start conducting weekend English classes for all age groups due to an increased demand.
The programme will begin on September 21 and run until December 5 with registrations remaining open until September 19.
Robert Taylor, director of English language services, said: “Our English language programme has seen unprecedented demand so far this year. The courses, which encourage the active use of realistic language in the classroom for all students, have received excellent feedback. We are delighted at the positive response from the local community and will now hold classes on Saturday for all age groups.”
The new term offers innovative English language training for adults as well as young learners. Classes for adults are open to all ages and ability levels, while those for young learners are divided into different ages and ability levels to best accommodate different learning needs. Age groups in this category cover Juniors (7-10 years), Seniors (11-14 years) and Young Adults (15-17 years).
“We believe the increasing demand is due to the approach we have taken to make the experience dynamic, interactive and engaging. With young learners, we know they look for activities that capture their imagination while developing real skills they can use in school and in other situations. Adult learners have different needs and, taking this into consideration, the programme has been devised to build confidence and take them to the next level of their capabilities. We have had a huge number of requests for Saturday classes and are happy to be able to respond to them with a full weekend programme,”
Taylor added.
Programmes run for 10 weeks, with morning and evening classes and now Saturday classes available, offering students the flexibility they need to pick a schedule that best suits them.
The programme will begin on September 21 and run until December 5.
