Alfardan Automobiles, the official BMW Group importer in Qatar, has presented the latest models of BMW in the country – the new 5 Series and the all-new 3 Series Gran Turismo.
“The new BMW 5 Series uniquely combines outstanding dynamic performance and efficiency, superior ride comfort and advanced connectivity - turning heads among car aficionados here in Qatar. The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo follows in the tracks of the latest-generation BMW 3 Series sedan that we launched early last year. Its distinct character – dynamic and sporty, while versatile and spacious – is very exciting. We are confident that these two models will prove popular among our customers and BMW enthusiasts in Qatar,” said Mohamed Kandeel, general manager of Alfardan Automobiles.
The current generation of the BMW 5 Series is the company’s best selling so far, with over 1mn units being sold worldwide since its launch in 2010. In the Middle East, the 5 Series Sedan took pole position as the company’s best-selling model in 2012 and in the first six months of this year.
The design modifications and technology enhancements of the new BMW 5 Series, coupled with innovative new features in the range of BMW ConnectedDrive technology, will raise the appeal of the BMW 5 Series model family, Alfardan Automobiles has said in a statement.
The new BMW 5 Series will be available in the following variants - 520i, 528i, 535i and 550i. The new generation of the V8 engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology found under the bonnet of the 550i generates 330 kW/450 hp. The BMW 535i delivers 225kW/306hp, the 520i 135kW/184hp and the 528i 180kW/245hp.
At a global level, the 3 Series continues to be BMW Group’s best-selling model series, consistently accounting for more than a quarter of the company’s global sales.
The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo adds an innovative new concept to the 3 Series line-up. It combines the sedan’s dynamic, sporting genes with practicality and versatility, qualities which are backed by an increase in space and driving comfort, says the statement.
The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo will debut with the 320i GT variant, which features the BMW four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine generating 135kW/184hp and accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds.
Both the new 5 Series and 3 Series Gran Turismo will feature the suite of onboard BMW ConnectedDrive technology featuring a host of driver assistance systems and mobility services designed to enhance safety, convenience and in-car infotainment.
Both cars are now available at Alfardan Automobiles showrooms.
