The winners of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club sponsored Qatar Near Challenge pose with their trophies after the presentation ceremony in Baden Baden, Germany on Wednesday.

Al Jeryan Stud dominated the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club sponsored Qatar Near Challenge at Baden Baden, Germany on Wednesday, August 28. Sporting the colours of Qatar’s Al Jeryan Stud, AJS Amjad (Majd Al Arab-Temtayshuhn) and AJS Qahir took the first two places ahead of M DaverioScharfenberg-owned Benben’Ba in a keenly contested race. The 1,600-metre contest for three-year-oldpure Arabians had attracted eight runners and had a purse of Euros 5,000 on offer to the winners.

The M Trybuhl trained three-year-old bay filly Amjad was ridden to victory by lady jockey RebeccaDenz, while Marvin Suerland was astride the second placed Qahir. Jockey Braem was on the saddle on Benbe’Ba.

This was the second start in Amjad’s career, having placed sixth to Al Naksh in the Club Breeders Trophy on her debut in Qatar on May 8, 2013.
