As part of its commitment to support community initiatives, Al Jassim Group yesterday announced its partnership with Doha Bay Running Club (DBRC).
An informal support network for runners throughout the city, DBRC currently boasts over 200 active members of all abilities and a wide-range of nationalities.
Alongside regular training runs, many of the club’s members regularly and successfully compete in races around the world.
To mark their initial support, Al Jassim Group yesterday issued regular DBRC runners with a loyalty card to be used at any of its Caffe Vergnano 1882 outlets.
The group currently meets socially at Caffe Vergnano 1882, Qatar Sports Club, every Friday following its long run sessions.
“We, at Al Jassim Group, are committed to supporting local initiatives particularly those related to sports. We are excited about this partnership with DBRC and eagerly looking forward to further developing this relationship with further events,” Camille E Aoun from Al Jassim Group said
Wanting to encourage Qatar’s wider community to find enjoyment in participating in running events within the country, DBRC will support Al Jassim Group in organising sports events in the future.
“Over the past few years, increasing numbers of people are realising the benefits of leading an active lifestyle. Running helps to improve fitness in a fun and social way,” said Emile Fitzmaurice from DBRC.
“We are delighted that Al Jassim Group shares our values and is keen to support DBRC’s goals and we look forward to supporting their efforts in encouraging participation in sports,” the official said
DBRC gives support to runners of all abilities. From beginners to professionals, all are welcome, added Fitzmaurice.
