Players from Team Al Andaloss and Team Nojoum Samba compete for a chance to play in the Men’s Football Finals today

The finals of the Aspire Zone Ramadan Sports Festival (RSF) Men’s Football tournament will be played today after the last four teams playing it out in the semifinals on August 6.
The second round allowed for eight of the 16 teams to move on to the semi-finals held on Monday. Al Andaloss and Al Wadi, both winners of the second round will compete for 1st and 2nd place at the Final match while Nojoum Samba and Al Rayan will complete for 3rd and 4th place.
Sayed Mohamed Abdulgalil, the coach of Al Andaloss said: “We are happy to have reached the finals. The team has worked extremely hard throughout the Ramadan Sports Festival and our efforts paid off.”
Jabit Abdulhakim from Nojoum Samba who will compete for 3rd or 4th place in the Men’s Football Finals were dissatisfied with their results but remained optimistic for next year. “We are disappointed that we didn’t qualify to play for 1st or 2nd place but we won the Men’s Tournament last year and unfortunately due to the absence of some of our key players, our performance was affected.”
“Out of all the tournaments that are available during Ramadan, Aspire Zone’s is the best, so we will definitely be participating next year and hopefully taking home first place,” he added.
The popular annual tournament has trumped expectations each year and inspired participants to want to continue to participate for a chance to show their talent in a competitive yet friendly level. The Men’s Football Tournament draws the likes of professionals and amateurs who meet on the field for a chance to win community-level stardom.
Ahmed Adel from the Al Andaloss team, who plays for an Egyptian football club yet is attracted to the friendly competition that the RSF Men’s Tournament provides, said, “I used to play professionally in my home country, Egypt, however it is always nice to play for fun. The RSF allows us to get a group of friends together and play in good facilities and meet people from other teams,” he said.
“Tournaments such as the RSF allow us to become better athletes, “he added.
