A new charity organisation, Al-Asmakh Charity, has been launched in Doha.
Al-Asmakh is the latest addition to a number of charity and humanitarian institutions operating in Qatar.
The launch was announced at a press conference held late Monday by founder Ibrahim al-Asmakh and Islamic preacher Nabil al-Awadi, who is a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, and general manager Nael Salah el-Din.
Al-Asmakh expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for their support to the Islamic community in all fields.
Al-Asmakh also expressed his thanks to HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and the Cabinet.
Al-Asmakh said the foundation has fulfilled all requirements and licensing has been provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs. He affirmed the organisation’s partnership with all foundations and charity organisations in Qatar bolstering charity activities.
In addition to helping those who are in need financially, the foundation will set up small enterprises for some families, he said.
The foundation had begun with its activities within Qatar and abroad a while ago, but they were not implemented in its name as the licensing was pending, he added.
