Ooredoo has announced the launch of its free app for mobile devices running the Android operating system.
Mobile apps have become an integral part of everyday life in Qatar for people to receive the latest news, access customer service and manage accounts. Ooredoo has brought an extra level of convenience with its flexible application available on BlackBerry 7, Apple iOS devices and now Android smartphones.
Ooredoo is planning to release the Ooredoo app for BlackBerry 10 smartphones in the coming months.
On the Ooredoo app, available for download at www.ooredoo.qa/app, customers can manage all their accounts and services, including paying and downloading their Ooredoo bills, topping up Hala accounts and redeeming Nojoom Points.
Customers can also learn about new promotions, search the phone directory for local numbers and reserve easy-to-remember numbers. Overall, the Ooredoo app also complements the company’s customer service at Ooredoo shops, its 111 helpline and on social media.
Since Ooredoo launched its mobile app in April 2013, thousands of customers have downloaded it every month, making it one of the most popular in Qatar.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Ooredoo has also launched a special feature on the mobile app that enables customers to directly redeem their Nojoom Points as a donation to charity. On the app, customers can also watch a ticker of the total number of customers’ Nojoom Points donated to charity, which has recently passed 3.5mn.
Android runs on a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, e-readers, netbooks, portable media players and smartwatches.
