HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, the Minister of Economy & Trade, and a delegation of the ministry’s officials visited Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QC) yesterday.
The visit was in response to an invitation from HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, chairman of the board of directors of QC, to HE the Minister.
This was the first visit of its kind by HE Sheikh Ahmed, intended to review the work of QC and in light of the role played by the ministry in promoting the private sector in Qatar. This support includes identifying problems that may affect the performance of the private sector and removing obstacles.
During the visit, the Minister met members of the QC board of directors and a number of Qatari businessmen. In a speech, HE Sheikh Khalifa welcomed HE the Minister and his delegation and thanked them for their visit.
HE Sheikh Ahmed, in turn, presented his vision of the development of the private sector in the next stage. Following consultation between the ministry and QC, an effective mechanism has been agreed upon, wherein joint tasks will be carried out by the ministry and the private sector. These will help come up with development proposals and find solutions to the various problems.
