Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) launched an Automated Insurance Machine (AIM) at the main headquarters of the Traffic Department in Madinat Khalifa on Monday evening.
The company has similar AIMs at various traffic department offices and other locations around the country.
Through such machines, QIC customers, whether for the first time or already registered, could conduct all types of personal insurance including insurance on health, vehicles, travel and buildings and renew these accordingly.
The launch ceremony was attended by the director of the Traffic Department Brigadier Mohamed Saad al-Kharji and a number of officials of the Ministry of Interior alongside the CEO of QIC Khalifa Abdullah Turki al-Subaey, and some QIC senior officers.
Brigadier al-Kharji said that department encourages such moves that ease the procedures on the public and affirmed that it works around the clock to deliver better and hassle free services to its customers.
Al-Subaey pointed out that QIC has been a pioneer in the region and the Middle East to introduce such machines in Qatar. Further, it has used sophisticated technology to make the insurance process more convenient for its customers and they can access such service through various other means including the Internet and smart phone.
He also appreciated the efforts of the officials of Traffic Department and Interior Ministry for their sincere and hard efforts to offer easily accessible services for the public, giving special thanks for the support of Brigadier al-Kharji. He further stressed that QIC is working towards the same target.
“The AIMs installed at the different traffic department branches are one of the most advanced machines, and feature a touch screen with English and Arabic interface. The AIMs accept all types of credit cards, and they are user-friendly, and users can complete their transactions in a few steps,” explained al-Subaey.
He said that AIMs had been already installed at the traffic departments of Madinat Khalifa, Al Mamoura, Al Khor, Al Shamal, Al Zaeyn and Al Zubara. More AIMs will be installed in the near future at other traffic departments include those of Al Rayan, Um Salal, Al Shahania, and the Industrial Area.
The installation of AIMs at the traffic departments is part of implementing QIC strategy in making its services easily accessible to its customers everywhere anytime. Consequently, they could complete their insurance transactions at their convenience in terms of time and place.
“Besides our AIMs at the various traffic departments, we have a number of them at other public places such as shopping malls including :The Mall, Land Mark, Al Meera (Airport/ Eniza/ Zaghawa Road), General Post Office, and Family Food Center (Al Rayan and Al Merqab Street). More AIMs are being installed at other places and will come into service soon. Through AIMs, people can renew vehicle insurance (full or third party), apply for new third party insurance, and get travel insurance, and home insurance,” al-Subaey said.
In addition to AIMs, QIC customers can attain the same insurance services through the Company website atwww.qic-online.com or through QIC service kiosks at some shopping malls in Doha. Further, QIC has recently launched a mobile app for Android and iPhones, offering the same insurance services.
“QIC provides its customers with a call centre operating from 7am to10 pm daily besides the digital services available around the clock/ seven days a week, “stressed the CEO of QIC.
He said that QIC provides 10% discount on premium to all electronic services to encourage more users to use such technology. As the event concluded, al-Subaey handed over a cheque to Brigadier al-Kharji as a means of QIC’s support to the Interior Ministry.
