A large toy shop at the Sanaa complex on the Ras Aboud Intersection suffered extensive damage and considerable financial losses in a fire that broke out around midnight on Monday, sources in the community said.
Usually the place is frequented by a number of visitors, especially in the evenings, they said.
According to inquiries made by this newspaper even though the fire brigade reached the place on being informed by some residents of the neighbourhood the shop suffered massive losses in the fire which destroyed among other things, an amusement facility, which was supposed to be the major attraction of the place.
It is not known if anyone was in the shop when the fire broke out and what caused the fire. Investigation is on.
