Reach Out To Asia (Rota) hosted  a special community Iftar event for the Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care.
Rota volunteers actively participated in the event as the elderly enjoyed Iftar delicacies in the presence of Rota board member Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser al-Thani.
Essa al-Mannai, Executive Director of Rota, said: “Rota is committed to building partnerships with Qatar’s community-based organisations. The holy month of Ramadan is a time to reflect on solidarity and foster camaraderie and community Iftars is our way of caring and sharing for others.”
“It is a pleasure to fulfil our commitment to reach out to as many people as possible during the holy month of Ramadan, specially the elderly patients who need our utmost care and attention. Serving our community in Qatar has been and will always be a prime objective for Rota,” he added.
Community Iftar events are a key part of Rota’s Ramadan 2013 Project, sponsored by Oxy Qatar, which includes distributing grocery supplies to disadvantaged families, house “makeover” renovations for families in need and sharing the joy of Garangao night with children with medical conditions.
