“We have set up a committee of 20 young people. They have experience in different sectors. They have experience in holding business forums and conducting business trips abroad. However, their activities are still in the initial phase and would develop more in the future,” said Sheikh Faisal.
He said the QBA has lined up a slew of conferences this year and the next year but the main one will be on infrastructure.
“There will also be various initiatives in different sectors that will be communicated to the government,” Sheikh Faisal said, adding: “I hope Qatari companies would be able to compete not only regionally but globally.”
Prominent businessman Hussein Alfardan said that young businessmen should be taken aboard the QBA to enrich their experiences, which would in turn benefit the national economy.
He called for a positive relationship between QBA and Qatar Chamber (QC).
“We always work together to achieve the common good of our country. Further, experienced and educated young people in various economic and business fields with professional background would be a real addition to the
association,” he said.
Dr Khalid al-Thani said that the new board of directors would include a young businessman to represent younger generation. Besides, several committees would be formed to address different sectors such as construction, education, and health, which are aimed at improving the investment atmosphere and opportunities in the country.
