Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has announced that the Aspire4Sport Congress and Exhibition will be held at Aspire Dome from November 16 to 19.
In its fourth year of sustained growth, Aspire4Sport is the leading regional platform for businesses, sports entities, athletes and decision-makers to discover the latest sports products, services and technologies while discussing hot-button industry trends and topics.
Commenting on the event, Aspire4Sport executive director Hamad Saif Buhindi said: “The sports industry in the Middle East continues to grow and provide opportunities to a vast number of businesses. Aspire4Sport has established itself as the gateway to the sports industry in the region. In alignment with the 2030 National Vision, we aim to become the leader in this flourishing industry at an international level.”
In 2012, over 170 companies from 20 countries participated in the exhibition. Through the use of purpose-built business-to-business (B2B) meeting rooms, the companies held over 250 scheduled discussions with key stakeholders from the region’s sports industries, including the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Qatar Olympic Committee, UAE Olympic Committee and AZF. In addition, the B2B online matchmaking forum witnessed great success, which contributed to the overall growth of the sports industry in the region.
To facilitate B2B exchanges and business opportunities, this year’s Aspire4Sport exhibition will be broken down into five key sports industry segments: Aspire Tech, Aspire Build, Aspire Logistics, Aspire Org and Aspire Med.
Around 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, which will be held over a 15,000sqm exhibition space. It will also feature 50 thought-leading forums and global sports celebrities.
The organisers have also announced two concurrent conferences in 2013: the Coliseum Summit, focusing on stadium design and architecture, and the International Quality and Productivity Centre conference, dealing with the infrastructure requirements of major sporting events such as the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
Increasingly, Aspire4Sport is being used as a forum to launch new sports technologies, announce tenders and sign agreements. The world-renowned Aspire Dome will once again host what has been established as the region’s premier sports industry event.
IFP Qatar, one of the Middle East’s most accomplished event organisers, has been contracted by AZF for the Aspire4Sport Congress & Exhibition for three years starting in 2013. George Ayache, general manager of IFP Qatar Ltd, said: “With deep roots in Qatar, we are proud to partner with Aspire Zone Foundation for Aspire4Sport 2013 and beyond.”
