The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a partial closure of the Grand Hamad Street from Sunday, July 29 to October 24.“One lane of the street on the direction from Corniche towards the Airport Street shall be closed at the stretch between Al Ahmed Intersection and Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Thani Street Intersection (as shown in the illustrative map),” a spokesman said. “This traffic diversion will last until 24th October 2012. “
The diversion is meant for completion of the drainage pipeline extension works on the street. While apologising for the inconvenience caused to the public due to this diversion, Ashghal has appealed all commuters to abide by the traffic guidelines.
