Qatar Red Crescent’s ( QRC) project to provide healthcare in Gaza is giving hope to a large number of people suffering from various chronic diseases. QRC has advocated this project with the aim of providing medical help to the needy in Gaza.
Recently with the support of QRC,  Haj Elwa who was ailing from heart disease since 1998 was successfully operated on and cured of his problem. The surgery was conducted by Dr Marwan al- Sadiq, heart surgeon and consultant in the department of heart diseases in Al Shifa Hospital and an adviser to QRC in Gaza.
Dr Marwan  said that he had conducted more than 1,000 open-heart surgeries in the Gaza Strip with a success rate of 98%.
