W 690 range of Sony cameras

Sony, the leading consumer electronics brand, has announced nine new Cyber-shot cameras including the WX series (DSC-WX100, WX150), HX series (DSC-HX200V, HX20V, HX10V), W690, TX series (DSC-TX20, TX66), and H series (H90), which offer superior optical performance in some of the world’s slimmest and lightest cameras ever designed.
The new digital camera line-up is available at all Fifty One East’s outlets located in Lagoona Mall, Al Maha Centre, and City Center Doha Mall in addition to all Virgin
Megastores.
The world’s smallest and lightest camera in its class, DSC-WX100 takes full advantage of the newly-developed Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens, which dramatically reduces camera body thickness to as slim as 17.5mm while increasing optical performance to deliver amazing image quality.
The new 10x optical lens (25-250mm) captures wide expanses and dramatic zoom shots, enhanced by Clear Image Zoom for 20x zoom while resolution is maintained. The Extra High Sensitivity technology has helped reduce the noise of the image to 1/64 without affecting image quality. Furthermore, Sony’s 18.2 megapixel (effective) Exmor R™ CMOS image sensor, teamed with the BIONZ image processing engine’s adaptive noise reduction and other low noise technologies, enables the WX100/WX150 to deliver exceptionally high quality images.
Both cameras also feature quicker autofocus approximately 0.13 seconds in daylight and as fast as around 0.20 seconds in low-light conditions and advanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation for blur-free shooting in challenging conditions.
The Cyber-Shot HX20V features 20x optical zoom, a new 18.2 megapixel (effective) Exmor R CMOS sensor, Optical SteadyShot and Sony’s AA lens element; perfect for taking beautiful, blur-free pictures or movies at any distance. The HX20V includes a new GPS log recording function, which allows users to track and log location details of photos captured away from home. Images can then be viewed using PlayMemories Home
via geotags.
At the entry level, the HX10V uses the same 18.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, a 24mm lens with image stabilisation, large 3.0” LCD screen with Photo Creativity editing, 1080/60i HD videos.
Like the WX150 and WX100, the Cyber-shot DSC-W690 achieves excellent performance in a slim body just 17.5mm thick at the slimmest part – the world’s thinnest for a CCD-based digital camera with 10x optical zoom – driven by its newly developed AA lens element. The W690 offers a 16.1 effective mega pixel Super HAD CCD, 10x optical zoom G Lens (25-250mm), improved Optical SteadyShot, and 360 Sweep
Panorama.
The Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 combines exceptional durability and performance in a slim and stylish design. Waterproof, dustproof, shock and low temperature resistant, the TX20 can be used in a range of challenging environments, producing consistently high quality photos and Full HD movies with its 16.2 effective mega pixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and Optical SteadyShot
(Active Mode).
Sporting an 18.2 (effective) mega pixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, the Cyber-shot HX200V is ideal for telephoto lovers who appreciate 30x Optical Zoom with 60x Clear Image Zoom while resolution is kept high even in distant images.
Improved high-speed AF enables the HX200V to focus more quickly at lightning-fast speed of 0.13 second in daylight and 0.21 seconds in low-light.
Speeds are approximate figures and may vary based on shooting conditions, easily achieving SLR-like response even in dimly lit
environments.
At just 12.2mm thick, the Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 packs a powerful punch in the world’s thinnest camera body. Featuring Sony’s 18.2 effective mega pixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, the TX66 also comes with a range of functions including Extra High Sensitivity technology, Full HD Movie and Photo Creativity interface.
Boasting Sony’s new 16.1 effective mega pixel CCD sensor and Intelligent Auto that is now capable of recognising up to 33 scenes, the Cyber-shot DSC-H90 makes it easier than ever to take crystal clear images. The powerful 16x optical zoom (24-384mm) captures virtually any wide range or telephoto shot and ‘360 Sweep Panorama’ lets users take panoramas with a single sweep of the camera.
