Ooredoo’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) partnership with Al Rayyan TV has seen an enthusiastic response from people across Qatar, with inspiring ideas being submitted as part of the initiative. |
The campaign, entries for which will be accepted until July 12, aims to discover the untapped potential of people to help others and fill hearts with joy during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Launched as part of the Alrabaa campaign, which means “friends” in Arabic, the contest enables people to submit their ideas and suggestions for the charity, community and environmental projects they would like to see launched in Qatar.
The CSR ideas must incorporate Ooredoo’s corporate vision of enriching people’s lives and any combination of the four pillars of Qatar’s National Vision 2030: Human Development, Social Development, Economic Development and Environmental Development.
The CSR television campaign will select the best ideas from among the entries and give the entrants the opportunity to appear on Al Rayyan TV and make their case to the world. The chosen entries will appear during a special section on the ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ show on Al Rayyan TV, which runs every night throughout Ramadan.
Fatima al-Kuwari, director of community and public relations at Ooredoo, said: “We’ve been inspired by the entries received so far, which show how much the people of Qatar care for others and include some really bright and positive ideas.”
After the different ideas are showcased, the public will be able to vote for their favourite suggestion through SMS. The projects with the highest number of votes will be declared the winners and receive special prizes; and one will receive full support from Ooredoo to launch.
The initiative is among a series of inspiring activities being undertaken by Ooredoo as part of the Alrabaa campaign.
From this week, Ooredoo “Sharing Spheres” will be placed at Villaggio Mall to receive donations. Each sphere will be for special items such as books, toys, mobile phones and electronics, sunglasses and spectacles, stationery and medicine.
There will also be an Ooredoo “Heart-to-Heart” competition on its Facebook page, where entrants can submit their suggestions for worthy recipients for a gift of QR10,000.
