Aspire graduate scholar Abdulla al-Tamimi won the U-19 Pioneer Junior Open Cup in Germany beating the English number one seed Richie Fellows in a hard fought semi-final and then Israeli number one Daniel Poleshchuk in an entertaining final.

Current Aspire student Azlan Amjad also performed well to finish sixth in the Under 17 event.

Amjad had never made it to the last eight before in such a prestigious event. He lost his last match in a close contest and a win would have given him one higher position.

Ahmad al-Homaidi also did his best and demonstrated that he has all the potential to become a top player by finishing in 24th position in his first year in the Under 15 age group.  All the other Aspire players won at least one match except young Mohammed al-Saadi who is still a relative novice at the game.
