Environment and climate change ministers discussed a number of key issues including long-term efforts to reach specific goals to be agreed upon during the COP 18 in Doha.
Additionally, they addressed bridging the gap between climatic change policies and initiatives aimed at creating funds to execute projects reducing greenhouse emissions.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Germany Abdurrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi and members of the delegation accompanying the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority attended the session.
Separately, al-Attiyah met Todd Stern, the special envoy for climate change at the US State Department on the sidelines of the Third Petersburg Climate Dialogue being held in Berlin.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the topics on the agenda of the Petersburg Dialogue, in addition to the latest preparations for the climate change conference (COP18) to be held in Doha in November this year.
Al-Attiyah also conferred with the Vice-Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission Xie Zhenhua on the sidelines of the Third Petersburg Climate Dialogue.
They discussed the topics on the agenda of the Petersburg Dialogue, in addition to the latest preparations for the climate change conference (COP18) to be held in Doha.
The meetings were attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Germany Abdurrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi and members of the delegation accompanying HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority.
