Qatar’s first professional snooker player Ahmed Saif suffered a defeat at the hands of Hong Kong’s Kwok Wai Fung in the first match of round of 64 at the 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Incheon, South Korea, yesterday.
Saif, who turned professional in May this year after going through the Q-School in Sheffield, England, lost to Fung 1-4 in the best-of-seven tie.
Fung blanked Saif in the first frame 70-0 before putting up a fight in the second and third frames. Saif put up an impressive game in the fourth frame to pull back one with 61-8 score. Fung, however, won the fifth frame 63-7 to advance to the next round.
