A Ramadan dining themed setup at Ikea Qatar store.
Global home furnishing retailer Ikea has launched special activities for Ramadan in their Qatar store, with a focus on the theme of dining during Ramadan activities that run until August 10.
“Ramadan is a very important time for us at Ikea and this year we have attempted to build a strong campaign around the idea of bringing families together,” said John Kersten, managing director, Ikea-UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman.
“Through our product range, restaurant offers, Småland and children’s activities, we hope to create a bond with our customers and bring the spirit of the Ramadan season to life,” he explained.
The campaign stretches across the Ikea range of furniture, cutlery, crockery, cookware, textiles and lighting to offer tips and solutions related to ways of creating a beautiful and inspiring dining atmosphere.
Beginning July 10, each week for four weeks, the store will also feature a selection of products that would be highlighted and available at a reduced price.
While the Swedish Food Market would sell the usual delicacies all day, the Ikea restaurant and exit bistro will neither serve nor permit eating prior to Iftar timings.
The Ikea restaurant will feature a special daily Iftar meal priced at QR22.
The store will also host a festive Ramadan tent close to the exit bistro, offering complimentary dates, coffee and traditional beverages to customers breaking their fast.
Details on the list of activities and store and restaurant timings can be found on www.ikea.qa
The Swedish furniture retailer opened its first store in Qatar in Doha Festival City on March 11. Spread over 32,000sq m, the outlet features over 7,500 products, many of which are showcased in Ikea trademark room settings – which also includes the region’s first ever majlis set up.
