Music lovers enjoyed an evening of Spanish and Latin American music at The St Regis Doha during the third instalment of the Encore! Concert Series on Friday evening.
Creative director and international pianist Amira Fouad accompanied the tenor, Neil Latchman from London, and Mexican guitarist Mauricio Díaz Álvarez. The event was attended by ambassadors and VIPs, among other guests.
The programme also presented the many dance styles of South America, delighting the audience with the tango, rhumba and calypso rhythms of the Carnival.
The St Regis Doha recreated an intimate atmosphere for the musicians and audience, transforming the lobby into a personal setting for more than 100 people. The experience included refreshments, canapés and an after-concert supper at Gordon Ramsay.
Andre Jacque, director (sales and marketing) at The St Regis Doha, said: “The Encore! Concert Series offers Doha residents the opportunity to experience international artistes in a very intimate setting. We will continue to bring some of the most celebrated artistes to our hotel in 2013 and are delighted to be partnering with Amira Fouad as creative director.”
Encore! is curated by Fouad at Qatar Music & Arts and supported by Qanas Productions.
“The response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to inviting you all to our next concert,” said Fouad.
The Encore! Concert Series brings some of the world’s most distinguished musicians to Doha for a series of concerts. Music plays a central role in the history of The St Regis, with the original St Regis New York playing host to a number of concerts for the cream of high society, under the direction of the famous Lady Astor.
