Géant Hypermarket at Hyatt Plaza, which has been in operation for over four months, has received a positive response from Qatar’s residents, a spokesman for the company said.

The “fresh” section, in particular, has attracted a large number of customers.

On February 24, Géant Hypermarket opened its doors following an agreement signed between Al Meera Consumer Goods and French retailer Casino to develop a network of hypermarkets and supermarkets under the Géant and Géant Easy banners in select Middle East countries.

The fresh section comprises five areas - fruits and vegetables, butchery, fishery, deli and bakery. The items on offer has been selected and sourced from the finest producers, both locally and internationally. Imported items are flown in by air, daily, to ensure optimum freshness and quality.

Offering a wide range, Géant Hypermarket imports fruits and vegetables from countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Iran, United States, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Australia, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India and
Pakistan.

The fishery section offers local and imported products while the butchery segment has a large selection of prime red meat, consisting of beef, lamb and imported veal. It also offers a variety of chicken gourmet products.
