Students from Stenden University Qatar recently completed their Management Trainee Programme at The Torch Doha Hotel. Saoud Jassim al-Kuwari, Ibrahim al-Emadi, Fatima Radwani, Munera Radwani, Aboubakr Bayoumi, Kholoud al-Abdullah, Mouza al-Baker, Vanina Ekamba, Kosisichukwu Bob-Ume and Shams Uz Zaman were handed their certificates by The Torch General Manager, Gerhard Foltin.

The Torch Doha offers opportunities to Stenden University students for professional development and better understanding of hotel operations and career planning after graduation.
Stenden University students have the opportunity to study abroad in countries like Holland, Thailand, South Africa or Bali and benefit from industrial placement. Most of them are offered jobs at the end of placement, due to a high level of coaching during study.
During the training, students were assigned to Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Front Office and Housekeeping departments and worked an eight-hour shift and ate at The Torch employee cafeteria Aspirations.
They were subject to discipline regulations as per hotel standards.
The Torch Doha General Manager, Gerhard Foltin, said: “The internship allowed students to gain practical experience by working along with highly-qualified professionals. We have received great feedback from them as they have showed dedication and commitment to every work task. Moreover we are delighted to welcome Qatari students to our programme and to help them develop employability skills in the hospitality industry.”
“Some of the students who were placed for the first time in a working environment, performed really well and we are extremely happy to pioneer such initiatives in Doha,” Foltin added.
