Al Hamad Automobiles Company, the authorised sole agent of Tata Motors in Qatar has introduced technology to convert the country’s non-AC buses to AC on becoming the exclusive agents for KB AutoTech from South Korea.
In a statement yesterday, Al Hamad said KB AutoTech is one of the leading automotive climate control technology manufacturers globally and the company would help convert the country’s non-AC buses to AC, using their “superior technology”.
Al Hamad has been selling both AC and non-AC buses in the local market. “The sale of non AC buses is as per the demand of the customers since AC buses are more expensive than the non-AC buses,” the company said. However the company noted that during the hot months in Qatar, it has become extremely difficult for the driver and the passengers to travel in non-AC buses.
“Hence Al Hamad Automobiles has brought forth an optimum solution for those fleet owners who are in need of bus AC retro-fitment,” it said.
KB AutoTech has been acknowledged as the pioneer of automotive climate control system since 1969 when it first produced heat exchanger. The company, earlier known as Modine, is renowned for manufacturing high quality thermal control systems for cars, commercial vehicles like buses, trucks, heavy machinery and home appliances.
KB AutoTech’s bus AC systems are mounted on Volvo, Tata, Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Daewoo, JAC, Hyundai and GMC brands of buses.
Al Hamad said on becoming the exclusive agent of KB AutoTech, the company’s teams were trained by experts from by KB AutoTech to install bus AC systems on non-AC buses of any make and model with high quality interior duct systems. Al Hamad’s team is currently capable of making the AC retro-fitment on a non-AC bus within 48 hours from receiving the unit.
KB AutoTech’s bus AC systems are available at highly competitive rates and come with full 24 months warranty. Tata buses are fitted with such AC systems and no failure has been reported in the last 12 years, it said, while adding that Al Hamad has put the retro-fitment in more than 200 units for the past one year.
