The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has launched a webpage to raise awareness about the coronavirus. It could be reached through the council’s website www.sch.gov.qa
Apart from raising awareness about the virus, the website details how the virus is transmitted and how to prevent infections.
The webpage is available in both Arabic and English.
The council has also allocated a hot line to answer any queries that the public may have. The hotline number is 66740951.
According to the website, coronavirus was identified in 2012 as the cause of respiratory illness in people. It is different from the virus responsible for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars), which was identified in 2003.
The council says on the page that one of the best ways for preventing infection was through washing hands thoroughly. Another simple prevention method was covering one’s cough.
