A Facebook page has been created to fight for justice for Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who committed suicide in her Juhu apartment. It was reported that she was depressed due to her failing career and crumbling personal life.
Titled “Justice for Jiah Khan,” the page was launched on Monday on the socialnetworking site (https://www.facebook.com/Justice.For.Jiah.Khan). An initiative by Newz66, a news and content website, it is reportedly supported by several Bollywood artistes and media professionals.
The page states that Khan’s suicide was completely sudden, unexpected and uncalled for. She was a strong, determined person and it is obvious there is much more than what meets the eye. “LIKE this page and leave your comments to ensure that the truth prevails,” it says.
Khan’s mother Rabiya Khan has alleged her daughter was in a live-in relationship with Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zareena Wahab, and unrequited love killed her.
Mumbai police arrested Suraj on June 10 in connection with Khan’s suicide. A court remanded him in custody until today.
So far the page has received 36 likes and a few comments.
Police said they have received medical reports related to Khan’s abortion from a hospital.
“There have been no new developments so far. We have received the medical reports from the hospital where the foetus was aborted,” a police officer said.
A lawyer for Suraj said they will be able to give out more information later.
“We will be able to give out more information tomorrow,” said Zameer Khan, who appeared for Suraj in a Mumbai court.
Khan mentioned about her abortion in her six-page letter, which was handed to the police by her mother.
The police sought the report on the abortion to corroborate the information in Khan’s letter.
The Britain-born actress, who debuted opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd, was found hanging at her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in Juhu area of northwest Mumbai on June 3. She was 25.
In 2008, she was seen along with Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal in the blockbuster Ghajini, a remake of A R Murugadoss’s Tamil film of the same title.
She was last seen in Sajid Khan’s Housefull with Akshay Kumar, Reiteish Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta.
