Abdulaziz Abdulla won the sixth round of the Qatar National Road Racing (QNRRCH) in tricky conditions as strong winds and a dusty track made racing challenging around the Losail International Circuit.

Abdulaziz started from pole-postion in his Porsche Carrera and led the race throughout. He gave no chance to Czech Republic’s Pavel Nedobity, who finished in second place with a difference of 23.913.

“It was a very good race, I didn’t have too much pressure as I think the guys had some problems with the wind and the slippery track, and they were a little behind me. I hope to be on the podium in the next race again and win the championship,” Abdulaziz said after the race.

Nedobity started the race from the third place in the grid but in the first lap overtook Talal Wehbe and kept the second position right till the end.

“From the start, I knew that I wouldn’t be in the first place as Abdulaziz was very quick, I had to control the gap with Talal in the third place and try to keep the gap of 7 seconds with him. I am very happy with my second place as it was a tough championship for me with some technical issues. I am very happy to be back on the podium,” the Lotus driver said after the podium ceremony.

The third place in the podium was for Talal Wehbe, also in a Lotus car. Wehbe tried his best in dusty conditions but said he was happy with his third place as he is still second in the championship with one round to go.

In the Production class, the winner was Peter de Vido in a Honda car. “It was a fantastic race. With these conditions, it made racing even more challenging having to think about driving, the car and also managing your tyres in the slippery conditions. I had a fantastic race with Nasser Sheighail, it was an intense fight, it didn’t end in any lap. He drove very well, very cleanly,” De Vido said after the race.

The trophies were presented by QMMF Board Member Sultan al-Morraikhi.
