Qatargas has organised an induction session to familiarise Qatari national interns with the Qatargas Summer Internship Programme that started on June 2, 2013.
During the induction session, the Qatarisation and National Development Division of Qatargas gave the students a presentation on the company’s internship processes providing information regarding the internship opportunities available in various departments across the company. Outstanding employment and career development opportunities available to young Qatari nationals were also highlighted during the session.
Upon acceptance into the programme, each intern is provided with an Internship Objective Plan (IOP) which focuses on the training plan and enables monitoring of the intern’s achievements.
The programme provides a platform for interns to start their professional experience on the right track.
Every intern is assigned a dedicated coach to guide and help them achieve their internship milestones. Qatargas internships allow the interns to gain knowledge and confidence through their interactions and professional networking with the company’s high calibre diverse workforce.
At the end of the internship programme, each intern is required to submit an internship close-out report as well as deliver a presentation covering the scope of the internship and learning acquired. As a testimonial of their success on the programme, a certificate of internship completion is awarded to each participant.
Addressing the students, a representative of Qatargas’ human resources department said that the benefits of doing an internship at Qatargas go far beyond monetary compensation. Interns are seen as prospective future employees and the company’s recruitment division maintains regular communications with them.
Many of Qatargas’ interns return to work with the company as full time employees.
