| A scene from the charity fashion show |
The show with the theme, ‘Once upon a time in Sharq,’ presented famous old stories from the Qatari culture in three plays: Ramadan Night (Garangao), Day of Eid (Ardah) and Henna Night (Jelwah).
The displayed collections were designed by: Al Nashel Designs by Nora Ali, a local Qatari designer, the Saudi designer of men’s fashion Sindi and Dar Naseem Al Andalus from Bahrain.
The fashion show was unique. Instead of the classic catwalk, each designer’s collection was introduced in a play based on Qatari culture.
The sponsors were Doha Bank (platinum sponsor), Ghosoon Beauty Center (gold sponsor) and Merch (silver sponsor).
The event was organised under the supervision of Tahira Makda, faculty and module co-ordinator for Event Management at Stenden University Qatar.
The students of International Business & Management Studies organised the event as their module project.
The International Business & Management Studies has recently been approved by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar.
This four-year bachelor programme is taught in English and its European degree is recognised in Qatar and globally. Admission is open until the end of August 2012 for studies starting in September 2012.
