Girlie, a Philippine Eagle estimated to be 32-years-old, is seen at a facility of the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau-Department of Environment and Natural Resources (PAWB-DENR) in Quezon, east of Manila yesterday. Recovered from illegal capture in 1982 and later turned-over to the DENR, Girlie has a blind right eye. The 13th Philippine Eagle Week wants to raise awareness for the endangered species and it runs from June 4-10.
